当我们正在聚精会神、兴师动众的建设密松水电站的时候，犹如一声霹雳，缅甸总统吴登盛突然叫停密松水电站建设，中国电力公司老总表示震惊和遗憾。作为置身于水电站建设的我们，得到这一消息真是悲喜交加，心情复杂！
喜的是在这个破地方呆够了，早就盼望回国与家人团聚，悲的是干了半拉子工程被叫停，企业损失惨重，我们即将面临失业。
这个工程我们干得很难受，很窝囊。已经投入了大量的人力物力、机械设备，覆盖层已经剥除完毕，付出了高昂的代价。在这个工地上，潮湿、酷热已经折磨我们这 些中国工人一年多了，除了不习惯这里恶劣的气候、蚊虫叮咬、可怕的疟疾等传染病以外，更不习惯缅甸国家的贫穷落后、腐败、闭关锁国。电站所需的主要物资、 设备都要从国内进口，而更要命的是报关手续繁琐周期长，一路“过关斩将”都要留下买路钱。在缅甸，国家公职人员的工资很低，一个厅级干部月工资折合人民币 才千八百块钱，但他们都很富有，都是靠的灰色收入。可缅甸的贫民百姓就惨了，这部分人穷困潦倒，食不果腹，衣不遮体。从我们雇用的缅工身上可见一斑。
我们进场都一年多了，由于交通不畅、缅甸国家的封闭和克钦军的干扰破坏，我们至今还是柴油发电，工地无手机信号，住的仍是活动板房，生活营地是一个用铁丝 网、瞭望塔围起来的院落，考虑到在别国的人身安全问题，不得随意外出，基本上过着与世隔绝的生活，过着艰难困苦的日子。
生活营地的对面就是克钦帮独立军控制的辖区，与我们一江之隔，由于局势紧张，政府军在我们这边巡逻驻防，防止独立军袭击破坏电站设施、抢夺地盘。我们也进 入高度戒备状态，轮流值班保卫要害部位，并聘请了缅籍保安。由于修建电站克钦帮得不到利益，所以自电站建设之日起，克钦军就一直干扰，直至最后电站建设人 员只能出（回中国），不能进（缅甸），持有缅甸国家的绿卡都不管用。克钦军在腾密公路随意荷枪设卡、收费、破坏公路等等，战事连绵不断，严重影响了工程进 度，直至最后停工三四个月。
是想，假如美国或西方大国修建密松水电站，缅甸政府敢随意叫停吗？叫停的后果会是什么呢？面对屈辱，也只有中国能忍受了，因为我们一向是“宽宏大量”的，并且中国现在“很有钱”。
吴大总统真会选择宣布这一消息的时间，9月30日是我们举国欢庆建国的时刻，我们却得到了这样的坏消息，不禁心灵为之一颤，精神倍受打击，伤自尊啊！
